    BURCHFIELD - Edgar Griffin, 79, Walls, retired farmer with Walls Planting Company for over 30 years, passed away Feb. 2, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Memphis. The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Hernando Funeral Home. Services were at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6 at First Baptist Church, Horn Lake. Interment, Friendship Cemetery, Como, Miss. Burchfield was born in Zama, Miss., was raised in Tunica, and was a distinguished United States Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Johnson Burchfield; daughter, Sherry Ann (Bobby) Burchfield Willis of Lake Cormorant; sons, Gary Griffin Burchfield of Walls, Michael Roger Burchfield, Sr. of Horn Lake and Randy Mark (Monica) Burchfield, Sr. of Walls; brother, Henry Grover Burchfield of McCarly, Miss.; grandchildren,Eddie (Chris) Payton, Melissa Burchfield Hughes, Jamye Burchfield, Ashley Payton, Michael Roger (Brigett) Burchfield, Jr., Randy Mark Burchfield, Jr. and Ryan Maddox Burchfield; and five great-grandchildren.
