"Ebenezer Tenney, born in Rowley, Mass, 12 August, 1703, son of Daniel and Mary (Hardy); married Ann (_____) … He was published in Rowley, 29 April, 1754; married his second wife 28 May, 1754, Mary Woodbury. … She was dismissed from the First Church in Rowley in June, 1757, to unite with Linebrook parish church, Rowley*. She died and he married his third wife, _____ Moore. Residence, Linebrook parish, where he was one of the original church members, 15 November, 1749. (Gage's Hist, 37:99.) He was one of thirty-seven men enrolled under Captain Northand's Alarm List (Gage, 211.) He died about 1795."

The existence of a third wife is not consistent with Jewett and Blodgette. The limited amount of vital records information available suggests that there was no third wife. It should be noted, however, that Jewett and Blodgette did not include a son, Ebenezer, baptized at Linebrook Church 2 January 1757 while including a daughter, Judith, baptized there 3 December 1758.

*Linebrook Church located with the bounds of the Town of Ipswich; the parish included portions of both Ipswich and Rowley.
