[Note: this "supposed reliable" record is rejected because it is before the parents' marriage 2 months later. The age at death calculation is deemed probably more correct. It should be noted that Source:Houghton, John Wesley. Houghton Genealogy, p. 95 gives Ebenezer's birth date as "8, 25, 1695", i.e., differs in the year of birth, but as the father Joseph's will names his "two sons Nathaniel Houghton [i.e., named first] and Ebenezer Houghton [i.e., named second]", it appears Nathaniel was older, again making the age at death calculation probably more correct.]
