It is not clear if there is a basis for this, as none is seen. The first recorded event in Ashby for this family is 1828, so it seems a lot like mere assumption. Given that neither Ebenezer's birth nor death seems to be recorded, it would appear he clearly died in Warwick, else why buried there? All this seems to suggest the family was living there, hence his birth probably there as well.
