Discrepancies re Spouses
Some believe that he was married first to Abigail Goodale, but from examination of the dates, it's more likely Abigail was married to his son, Ebenezer, Jr. (although see problems with that)
- Ebenezer Sr. b 1683, d 1758
- married Mary 1707
- Mary Allen b 1688, d 1766
- Abigail Goodale was born in 1718 (notice the time relative to the above couple)
- Abigail married Ebenezer Abbey 1729 (at age 11??) Something's wrong here. (See notes for Ebenezer, Jr.)
In either case, Ebenezer Sr. was not likely to have married Abigail Goodale.
