Earl Ernest Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Johnson was born October 1, near Linden, Iowa in the year of our Lord 1903. He departed this life Monday, March 12, 1945, at the early age of 41 years, 5 mo. and 11 days, at Redfield, Iowa, where he was operating a garage. He had spent the greatest part of his life near Linden, Stuart and Redfield, Ia, and was loved and respected by all who knew him. At the age of 21 years, he was united in marriage to Mable Putney, the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Edward Putney of Indianola, Iowa. To this union were born eight children, four girls and four boys, Irene, Ernest, Eudora, Louise, Harold, Victor, Shirley May, Larry William, all at home. Preceding him in death are his father, W. T. Johnson, one sister, Mrs. Ola Jane Branson and one brother Leroy James Johnson. He was a kind and loving husband and father. He has left to mourn his death, his wife and children; his mother, Mrs. W. T. Johnson of Stuart, Iowa, four brothers and six sisters; Hazel Arrasmith, Carl Johnson, Gladys Conant, and Donald Johnson of Des Moines; Grace King of Minneapolis; Clarence Johnson of Redfield; Martha Countryman aand Evelyn Johnson of Stuart; Dorothea Stapes of Adel and Willis Johnson of Dexter. He will also be missed by other relatives and friends.
