(There was one verbal report from his daughter, that he was the Choir Director at Greenfield Presbyterian Church)

His death was the result of a car/truck accident. Earl had gone to Shelbyville to visit a friend (or a realative) and was returning to Indianapolis when his car broke down. Another car stopped to offer him a ride into town. As he was getting into the car, it was struck by a Standard Oil truck. There was a claim that the truck driver had been drinking.
