Ealoha is mentioned several times in the church records of the First Christian Church of Centralia, WA: She taught Sunday School (1st grade) for 7 years. Although complete records are not available, the "Annual Reports" for 1962-3, 1963-4, 1964-65, 1966-67, 1967-68 list Ealoha as a church school teacher and her address as 801 N. Pearl, Centralia, 736-4449. The 1965-65 report also lists her as the Worship Director for the Christian Women's Fellowship. The Historian's scrapbook has an article from the "Daily Chronicle" entitled "American Missionary to Japan Guest Speaker at CWF Breakfast" (undated but probably from 1956) in which she is listed among the officers for that year, as worship chairman. A listing of committee members for the new church building in 1967 lists Mr. and Mrs. Everett Maynard on the Overseers committee, whose duties including taking inventory of the church furnishings, arrange work parties for moving it, arrange for coffee for the crews and advise the craftsmen committee of any necessary shelving or other construction.

Ealoha worked at the telephone office until 1952. It is uncertain when she began work there but the 1939 Polk Directory for Lewis County lists Ealoha M. James, an operator with PT&T, residing at 402 Madison with Geo and Matilda James. The 1937 directory lists her at the same address but shows her as a student, with her father a mill worker.

R.L. Polk directory 1937 lists her as a student living with her parents at 402 Madison. 1939 Polk lists her still living with parents at 402 Madison but now working at PT&T Co.
