Dr. Peter Brooks married (2) Betsey Bryant in New Gloucester, ME on 1 July 1788.

The marriage license "Maine, Marriage Records, 1713-1922 for Peter Brooks Cumberland 1788 B".

There is speculation that this was a second marriage without benefit of divorce from Judith Foster.

Dr. Peter Brooks can be found in the 1790 census for Number 4 Plantation, Cumberland, Maine with 2 Females, 1 male under 16 and 1 male over 16.

According to the "History of Androscoggin County, Maine", Chapter XLII, pages 729 and 730, Dr. Peter Brooks was an "Indian doctor" with a farm of 25 acres, wife Betsey Bryant, and four children Lucinda, William, Charles and Betsey. The history indicates his death as "1807 or 1808".
