!Source: Notes of V. C. Halbert. Doxse reportedly came to America during the colonial era. A blacksmith, he is said to have shoed the horse of General George Washington several times. Halbert notes that a book in the Newberry Library in Chicago suggests that Enos had 20 children. It apparently also mentioned Doxse Lane, but failed to established a link between Doxse and Enos. |
