Obituary for Douglas Glenn Vandiver

Douglas Glenn Vandiver, 74, of Madisonville, KY passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. Mr. Vandiver was born April 16, 1941 in Madisonville. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Artancy Vandiver.

He was a member of the Pentecostals of Lone Star Church in Madisonville and he was a retired miner from Peabody Coal Company.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Shirley Hendricks Vandiver; a daughter, Julie Carol (Chadley) Ladd of Madisonville; two sons, Kent Ross (Bennette) Vandiver of Rock Wall, TX and Kirk Douglas Vandiver of Madisonville; one sister, Betty Vandiver Walker of Hopkinsville, KY; a brother, Thomas Volpa of Fresno, CA; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Pentecostals of Lone Star Church with Pastor Roy Duke and Pastor George Hancock officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Mausoleum in Madisonville. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 11:00 P.M. Wednesday at Pentecostals of Lone Star Church.
