1901 - With parents at 9 Berkeley Place, Falmouth, Cornwall. Aged 1, born at Falmouth, Cornwall.

1929-30 - When he left for the US, Howard did not know that Sophia was pregnant. She had a stillborn boy. Howard did not know of this child and was not told for many years.

1931 - Sophia immigrated to USA with her daughter June who turned 5 on the ship. Husband Howard had immigrated in 1929.

1935 - Sophia and her two children Barbara June (aged 8) and Philip (aged 3) travelled to England for a summer visit. Howard again did not know Sophia was pregnant at the time. Her hopes were to go back to England and have the child there and stay there to live. Sophia's father told her she needed to be with her husband and have the child in the US. He also didn't want them living there because of a possible war in Europe. She returned to the US, travelleing from Southampton, England to New York and arrived on 29 Sep 1935 on the ship named the President Roosevelt. Kenneth Charles was born on 12 December 1935.
