HUDSONS3 -- Dorothy L. Plapp, 81, formerly of rural Maple Park, mother of a Hudson resident, passed away Saturday (Jan. 1, 2005) at the home of her daughter, <names of living individuals have been remove> in Monroe, Ga. She was born April 10, 1923, in DeKalb, the daughter of Ralph A. and Mabel M. Huffstetter Taylor. She married Everett J. Plapp on June 23, 1956, at the Pierce Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Dorothy was employed by Diamond Wire in Sycamore before she partnered with Everett to manage the family dairy, chicken, trucking and grain operations. She was a member of the Pierce United Methodist Church and the DeKalb County Home Extension. Dorothy enjoyed card games,handicrafts, …

    Everett J. Plapp, 86, of rural Maple Park, Ill., passed away Wednesday,Sept. 1, 2004, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center in DeKalb.

    Born June 18, 1918, in Sycamore, Ill., he was the son of Frank F. and Bertha B. (Ziegler) Plapp. He married Dorothy Taylor Magnuson on June 23, 1956, at Pierce Evangelical United Brethren Church.

    Everett was a lifetime farmer and was a member of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau and Pierce United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and loved to dance.

    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; <names of living individuals have been remove;> five grandchildren, <names of living individuals have been remove;> 10 great-grandchildren;a sister and brother-in-law, <names of living individuals have been remove> of DeKalb; andseveral nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Geoffrey Magnuson.

    The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with the Rev. Sandra Graber of Cortland United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at East Pierce Cemetery in Maple Park. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    A memorial is being established for Everett J. Plapp in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115.
