- ↑ Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Genealogical History of the Rice Family : Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice, p. 77, describes Dorothy as "of Marl[borough]", b. 20 Feb 1709, d. 21 Jun 1801. This particular birth date cannot be found nor is it clear what the basis for calling her of Marlborough is, since it is not so indicated in the marriage record, and she married in Westborough which was set off from Marlborough and incorporated by 1717, 10 years before the marriage. It seems likely she is Samuel's daughter, whose birth is recorded in Cambridge 19 Apr 1709, based on the circumstantial fact that her father moved to Westborough before he died in 1724. The relationship of the recorded birth date to the one given by Ward is unknown. The accounting for Samuel Robinson's estate was allowed 21 May 1728, after Dorothy married, and only one guardian file, for Samuel Jr., was opened. No explicit distribution is included in the probate file (Worcester file 19392), but as Dorothy would not require a guardian (being both 18 and married), the lack of a guardian file is not significant. Most sources that cover this family show no further information beyond Dorothy's birth, such as Source:Manning, William H. Genealogical and Biographical History of the Manning Families of New England and Descendants, p. 143, which says "history unknown".
