Dorothy Cruey Pettit, 86, of Midway, died Tuesday afternoon at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Pettit was the widow of James Cruey and Howard Pettit and was a daughter of the late Ebb and Nanny Kirk.
She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law: Stella and Ralph Shipley of Bulls Gap, Vonda and John Robinette and Peggy and Elmer Robinette, all of Mosheim, Jeanette and Leroy Wattenbarger of Greeneville; and Martha A. and Hal Solomon of Midway; a son: Charles Cruey of the home; her grandchildren: Ricky Shipley, Robbie Shipley, Donnie Shipley, Lynn Robinette, Billy Robinette, David Robinette, Charlotte Robinette, Janice Ricker, Junior Robinette, Angel Peters, Andy Gulley, Lesley Solomon, Joanie Solomon, Alan Cruey, and Natasha Null; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including two special nephews: Burlyn Kirk and Doug Cruey.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Mike Shipley; a granddaughter: Vickie Gulley; two great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mosheim Chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Mosheim Chapel. The Rev. Chris Howell will officiate.
Interment will follow in McMillan Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
