ROCKFORD - Dorothy L. Gentz, 76, of Rockford, died at 3:24 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2001, in Swedish American Hospital after a wonderful life. Born Dec. 13, 1924, in LaCrosse, Wis., daughter of Elry R. and E. Irene (Faulkner) Donaldson. Lived 40 years in Rockford, coming here from Morrison. Married Clarence Gentz in Chicago on Dec. 2, 1944. Member of First Assembly of God. Survivors include husband, Clarence children, Linda Wekenmann and Jim (Cathy) Gentz, both of Rockford, Becky (Jerry) Aavestad of Escondido, Calif., and Will (Marylin) Gentz of Olympia, Wash. 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents and sister. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, in Fitzgerald & Associates Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with the Rev. Jack Cave officiating. Visitation 1 p.m. to service time Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials to Rockford Area Pregnancy Care Center or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
