Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Dorothy C. Quincy who passed away on Oct. 5 at a nursing home in Lowell. Mrs. Quincy was the widow of Josiah E. Quincy, M.D. She was born in Athens, Maine, on Nov. 21, 1901, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Iva (Scribner) Cayford, and has lived in that community for the greater part of her life, having moved to Dunstable a year ago. A registered nurse by profession, she had done private nursing duty in the Boston area for about 15 years. She retired in 1968. Mrs. Quincy is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herman Kurrelmeyer (Sally) of Dunstable, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Richard Sears (Judith) of Memphis, Tenn.; and Mrs. Richard Boege (Mary) of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Scribner Cayford of Athens, Maine, and Kenneth Chapman of Burlington, Vt.; and 11 grandchildren. A Memorial service took place in the Dunstable Congregational Church on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Hampton Price officiating and organist Henry Norris and Mrs. Norris furnishing special music. Cremation took place at Mt. Auburn Crematory, Cambridge. Funeral Director Robert T. Morse was in charge of arrangements. |
