Mrs. A.A. Nyland, 46, Tucson, Ariz., was killed in an automobile accident in Tucson Friday.
The former Dorothy Babcock, daughter of Milton and Edith Babcock, was born May 8, 1912, on the present Willard Babcock farm near Albion. She was educated in the local schools and later graduated from the Milton College School of Music. She was very active in musical circles and always delighted her audiences with her exceptional ability. At one time she was Music Director of Madison radio station WHA, organist in various churches, teacher of piano and organ, and after moving to Tucson, Ariz., was accompanist for the Tucson Ariz. Boys Choir. For several years she had been employed by Harmony House Organ Co., demonstrating and promoting sales. She was a member of the Organist Guild.
At an early age she joined the Albion Seventh Day Baptist church of which she was still a member and was always active in church work wherever she made her home.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Richard Sayre, by a former marriage; a brother Willard Babcock, Albion and a sister, Mrs. Norman Chatfield, Milton Junction; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday in Tucson, Ariz.
