In Alfred, N.Y., March 5th, 1875, after a lingering illness, perhaps consumption, Dorcas, wife of Samuel S. Thomas, in the 71st year of her age. Sister Thomas was born in Petersburgh, N. Y., and was the last of her father's family to lay off her earthly house. She found the Saviour in early life, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Berlin, N. Y., but since she came to Alfred, had not identified herself with any church. She was a true wife and a kind and faithful mother. She has left a husband, five children, and a large circle of friends, being anxious to depart that she might be with Christ. Her last words were. "The will of the Lord be done." J. K.
