DONALD PUTT graduated from Sugarcreek - Shanesville High School in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He was an only child.

Next he graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, in 1928. Afterward, he joined the US Army Air Corps.

He was a military general, as was his distant cousin, Gen. John J. Pershing, being a Lieutenant General in the United States Air Force. Gen. Putt headed the development of large bombers, including the B-29 Super-Fortress. The two generals are linked through their relatives in this WeRelate.org website.
