From: LUELLA & DOLLARD HEALY - FAMILY MEMOIRS

Luella & Dollard farmed at R.R.#5,Orillia, Ont. from 1937 to 1973. At this time they retired to 239 McKinnell St. Orillia, Ont. Luella & Dollard were hard working people who provided a happy home with strong faith, hi gh moral standards, Christian family values and a great abundance of love. Although we envied our cousin Paul Hannan (Paul was an only child and therefore had more candy and toys than we did) we lacked for nothing. We were provided with every necessity one could imagine. Luella & Dollard were truly the best parents anyone could ever hope for. Music was a very important part of our family life. Everyone participat ed except our poor mother who was completely tone deaf and unable to sing a single note; yet she never failed to catch us when we were playing our favorite country & western hit song instead of our music lesson. We appreciate now what a sacrifice she made in sitting with us for an hour each day to make sure we accomplished our music lesson. We thought Ed had life easier because mother truly did not know what he was practicing on the guitar or the violin but dad always knew what he was playing. We could always get away with more tricks with dad than with mother. We are a ll now very thankful and most appreciative of all our parent's sacrific es for us. Dollard died in November, 1977 and Luella died in February, 1985. Both were blessed with sudden deaths from single heart attacks with no previous illnesses.
