Dies of Dropsy
D. C. (Docky) Smith, aged 51 years, well known farmer living seven miles north of Davis, died Monday morning at 3:45 o'clock of dropsy. He had been afflicted for several years but his illness had become more acute the past few weeks.
Mr. Smith was burn in Runnels county, Texas, Feb. 10, 1884, and in early childhood moved with his parents to Chico, Texas. They moved to Davis in 1917 and lived near this city the remainder of his life. He was married to Miss Myrtle Vaught, July 18, 1915. To this union a son and daughter were born. He leaves to mourn his departure, his widow, one daughter, Modean; one son, Virgil; his mother, Mrs. E. F. Smith, one sister, Mrs. Eula Stack; four brothers, Fred and Frank Smith, Randlett, Okla.; Joe Smith, Henrietta, Texas, and D. S. Smith, Clarendon, Texas.
Funeral services was held at the Christian church in Davis Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. F. Crews and Rev. J. S. Ferguson conducting the service. Interment was in Green Hill cemetery.
