Dixie Jane Newman, 65, of Vanzant, Mo., formerly of Steele, Mo., died Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at her home.
Born March 28, 1935 in Steele, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Shelton and Inez Still Shelton.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kasey Kelsey.
She was an accountant and of the Church of Christ faith.
Dixie was united in marriage to Melvin Newman on June 10, 1980 in Caruthersville, Mo.
Mrs. Newman leaves her husband, Melvin Newman, of Vanzant; Two sons: Kim Kelsey of Steele, and Kerry Kelsey and his wife Helen of West Plains, Mo.; Two grandchildren: Kimberly Foht and her husband Jerry of Springfield, Mo., and Colton Kelsey of West Plains; and One sister, Dana Howell, of Clarksdale, Miss.
Graveside services for Mrs. Newman were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2000 at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery in Howell County, Missouri, with Evangelist Ivie Powell officiating.
Carter Funeral Home of West Plains was in charge of services.
