[Alamance County_Feb 2006_backup.FTW] Mr. Dermont Foylee Chester GRAHAM — Mr. Dermont Foylee Chester, 82, of 717 Sycamore Road, died at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health. A native of Davidson County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Dorothy Rich Chester, who survives, and the son of Mr. Julius Leroy Chester and Mrs.. Nora Tesh Chester, both deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the 777th Tank Battalion. He was a retired self-employed mechanic and was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church. Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sons, Mr. Jerry Chester of Graham and Mr. Darrell Chester of Greensboro; two sisters, Miss Peggy Chester of Greensboro and Mrs.. Shelby Brock of Lexington; two brothers, Mr. James L. Chester of Greensboro and Mr. Jimmy Chester of Michigan; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs.. Geneva Hutchinson; three brothers, Mr. Charles T. Chester, Mr. Norman L. Chester and Mr. B.A. Chester. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. David Jackson, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bellemont United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 Saturday evening and at other times at the home.
