Facts and Events
As stated on her son's (Gregory LOWER) WeRelate page, Delores links the Hirstein village (in the Saarland) LOWER family, to the Palatine family of Daniel LOWER of Urbana, Indiana. Daniel is "White Creek's" principal ancestor in this work. Delores' ancestor, 6 generations back, Konrad REGULA (born 1733 in WALDGREHWEILER), is the earliest of the Regulas, of which we know anything. The Regulas may have been the first of the early Palatine pioneers in the southwest Tuscarawas County, Ohio townships. They are related to many of the early pioneer families, as described in these WeRelate.org pages. From the village of 'LETTWEILER', about 3 miles north of Waldgrehweiler, came the PRETORIUS family. Many of them also have pages in WeRelate. The eldest known Pretorius, has been identified as Leonard Pretorius (although not all sources agree). This compiler has 24 pages of Leonard's ancestors listed on his computer program (not all listed on WeRelate). Many of the surnames of the early pioneers of southwest Tuscarawas County, appear in Leonard's family tree. Leonard died in 1865, and is buried in Bucks Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Others from the Regula's village of WALDGREHWEILER, are also related to the Daniel Lower family of Urbana, Indiana, through different connections. This compiler has not found all of them yet! One of the other connections is an unknown MILLER, whose parents (both once known to this compiler) have family trees that include Miller (Mueller), Shultz, Pretorius, Karns, Fetzer, Kohler, and Lanhart, on the paternal side. On the maternal side is: Grimm, Lower (Lauer), Henry, Geibel, Shultz, Karns, Maurer, Glasser, and Lanhart. The many (known) connections are obviously very complicated! --White Creek 22:33, 5 June 2018 (UTC) References
