    [Note: usually the term cousin meant niece (as in this case) or nephew. That the single bequest named both, it is possible they were sisters, children of the same sibling of Thomas. Since Mary is not known to have children named Deborah or Mary (TAG), Vol. 48, p. 7), nor Samuel and Elizabeth Hall (Source:Otis, Amos. Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families, p. 451), and Thomas clearly didn't, possibly the mother of these two cousins was Thomas's sister Deborah. However, they could not be children of Thomas Crowell and Deborah ---, because the will of Thomas Crowell names Mary Basset (m. 1709 Nathan Basset) and Deborah Parker (m. 1720 Ebenezer Parker).]
