BIOGRAPHY: The Greene Family and its Branches From A. D. 861 to A. D. 1904 By Lora S. La Mance Mayflower Publishing Company Floral Park, New York 1904 Pages 143 Deborah Greene was the daughter of James Greene, grand-daughter of John Greene of Bristol, great-grand-daughter of Lieut. James, and great-great-grand-daughter of John Green of Quidnessett, the emigrant. Old John of Quidnessett had 800 years of certified pedigree behind him. It is given in Chapter XI. This descendant, Deborah born 49 years after his death, was the fore-mother of a great host. She took a new departure,--married outside of her family, and outside of the coterie of old Rhode Island families into which alone the Quidnessett Greenes seemed to feel a right to marry. References
