Family-Placed Obituary

DEBORA ANN WINDSOR BROCKERT May 18, 1955 - April 7, 2009 Beloved wife, mother and sister, went peacefully into God's loving arms after a courageous battle with cancer. She worked diligently over the years to educate herself, first graduating Cum Laude from Nassau Community College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Restaurant Management. She continued to acquire her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education graduating Summa Cum Laude at Florida Atlantic University in 2004. She absolutely loved teaching, and all the students and parents of Timber Trace Elementary wanted ìMrs. Brockertî to be their teacher. Debbie taught Sunday School at the Church in the Gardens for a number of years as well. Debbie was a fantastic cook. She collected recipes and watched the Food Channel regularly. Many times she would experiment on friends and family with foods and desserts. If you were invited to her house for a get together dinner cook out, you never asked what was on the menu, you always arrived on time to a wonderful meal and lots of laughter. She had a passion for fishing and welcomed fishing buddies to tag along. Debbie's family was the light of her life. She is survived by her husband, Ken; sons, Sean and Kyle; daughter, Rebecca; her daughter-in-law, Kim and granddaughter, Amber. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Billy, Mary, Ernie, Joan, Benny and Nina. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy and Johnny. She looked forward to the birth of her grandchild in September. She will be missed dearly by numerous friends and colleagues. There will be a memorial service Saturday, April 11, at 2:00 PM at Journey Church, 12600 W. Indiantown Road, Jupiter Farms, FL. The family will receive friends at the Church following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a Scholarship Fund being set up in Debbie's name. Please make checks payable to: Journey Church of Jupiter.
