Davis Loofboro departed this life Feb. 18th, 1875, in the 81st year of his age, of apoplexy. Bro. Loofboro was born in West Virginia, and made a profession of religion at the age of eighteen, in Ohio. Returning to Virginia, he united with the Lost Creek Church, married Mrs. Mary Maxson, returned to Ohio in 1837, and was one of the members of the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Jackson, Ohio, at its organization. In 1850, he moved to Farmington, Ill. From there he moved to Welton, Iowa, and united with the Sabbath-keeping church, where remained to the day of his death. Bro. Loofboro won for himself the confidence of all who knew him; highly esteemed not only for his Christian integrity, but for his wisdom in counsel, his reliability in times of trial. He was ever found at his post with his armor on, ready to do battle for the Lord, and died as he lived, trusting and hoping in Jesus.
