My grandfather Simeon Newton Waldrop told me David bought the land in Alabama in 1839. David didn't move there until 1841 or 1842. They are members of the Union Spring Baptist Church in Marble Valley, Alabama, Coosa County in September, 1848. This is a good distance from the farm. I haven't been able to figure this out.
David Waldrop started his family Cemetery in 1839 by letting a murdered man be buried there due to the body being in bad shape and no one to notify. He was a Mr. McDonald. David built his home one block North East of the Cemetery.
David bought several hundred acres when he came to Alabama.
James Lewis Waldrop Sr. built his home 1 block South of the Cemetery. It was a log house. I have spent many nights in this log home when I was a child.
