In the fall of 1835, David Crockett Sears, his family, and Wilson Calhoun Sears and his family moved from Allentown area to Stewart Co, GA. The Sears family settled in the 25th District of Stewart Co, and established Searsville. The Searsville Post Office was first established on 5/9/1837 in the home of DavidCrockett Sears. He was also commissioned as a Justice of the Peace in Stewart Co. on 3/15/1838.
