On the pension application of Mary Hyder VanHoy, David Norris's second wife, the following information:

"Mary Hyder VanHoy married David Norris at the home of a Hale in Cumberland County, Tennessee. David was divorced in 1866/67 [s/b abt. 1865] at Crossville, Tennessee, from Amy Lowe, who was a widow when he married her. He charged her, Amy Lowe, with adultry".
