Uncle Dave came to Canada as a young boy. His mother and brother John emigrated about 1924 after the death of his father. They came to London before moving to Gorrie. Dave met Muriel when he was a patient in the hospital where Muriel was taking her nursing training. Dave Neilson loved sports and eventually found a job that he loved....as the Secretary of the Western Ontario Athletics Association. He worked until his death. Without a doubt, one of the highlights of Davy's life occurred in 1972. The juvenile girl's baseball team that he coached won the Tri -County Championship. Both of his daughters were on the team.
