BIRTH: David Murdock appears to have been born illegitamately, but hisfather was likely to have been a Riggs because of his middle name.

LEGAL: 1814 -- Elizabeth, widow of James William Murdock, died. In herwill she left the house and lands to her daughter Ann and Ann's son,David. If Ann should marry or die, the house and lands were to go toDavid and he was to pay $50 to John, son of James, Jr., and to give a cowto Robert, son of John who died in 1781 (Orange County, NC Will Book D,page 399).

LEGAL: 1815 -- April 13, David Murdock, son of Ann, deeded his interestin the 150 acres left to him and his mother by Elizabeth to his uncle,James, for $100 (Orange County, NC Deed Book 16, page 125).

LEGAL: 1816 -- November 20, Ann and David deeded 150 acres on the NorthFork of the Little River to James Murdock, Jr. for $250 (Orange County,NC Deed Book 16, page 77).

LEGAL: 1818 -- March 12, David Murdock, by sheriff, et al, deeded toSamuel Wilson, et al, 150 acres on the North Fork of the Little River.David owed $70. This is the same land that David sold his interest in in1815 and that Ann and David sold to James, Jr. in 1816 (Orange County, NCDeed Book 16, page 338).
