    David and Eva(Shuts) Michael were both natives of Rowan Co. North Carolina. They were of German descent and members of the Baptist Church. He served as a Private in the War of 1812 from Rowan Co. NC.4th Reg of NC.

    The family left NC in 1823 to Carter Co. TN, then through Ky and the Ohio River to Washington Co. In.. They pushed on to Coles Co. Il. and later settled in Johnstown Il.
