1850 census, Washington Co, TN, for family details; 1850 Washington Co, TN, Federal census: David R. Kennick, 70, MD, Farmer; with wife Sarah, 69, and four children, Susan , 32, TN (places the family in TN in 1818), Mary, 30, TN, Martha, 28, TN, Riley, 16, TN.
David purchased land from Isreal Whitaker on west bank of Dutchman Creek (7 Oct 1802) in Rowan Co. (later Davie), NC. 27 Feb 1804 David sells this 100 acres of land to Allen C. Harbin. David appears in the 1810 census, the 1811 tax roll (which in 1810), but doesn't appear on the 1820 census. So we can conclude David left Rowan Co some time between 1810 and 1820. The 1818 birth year of Susan in the 1850 census suggests it was prior to that time. David next appears in the Carter Co, TN, 1832 state census index. Did he move to Washington Co, where he is in 1850, or did the county lines change?
