About David Kaufman

David Melvin Kaufman was born 29 April 1951, the son of Morris F. Kaufman and his wife Freda Schlossberg. After High School, Dave attended California State University, Los Angeles from 1970-1974 and majored in Music/Music Performance, became a very accomplished musician and was in several Jazz Bands throughout his life.

Dave was married to his wife Judith Ann Wagner on 18 September 1971 in Los Angeles County, California and they were married for 17 years and they had three children together, Brian, Kevin and Dennis. His wife Judith Ann [nee Wagner] predeceased him in 2005, and he continued to care for his sons as a single parent for many years.

In June 1998, he joined Certified Grocers of California, working in sales as a Key Account Sales Executive in the Specialty/Market Centre Division and stayed there for 17 years before retiring [from then Unified Grocers] in August 2015. Dave was kind and soft-spoken and was well-liked and highly respected by his co-workers and friends. Dave passed away suddenly on 1 August 2016 while on a weekend vacation, and he will be sorely missed by his family, friends, co-workers and acquaintences for many years to come.

    David Kaufman was born to Morris F. Kaufman and Freda Schlossberg on April 29, 1951 in California and passed away on August 1, 2016 in Murrieta, CA. He was 65 years old.

    David is survived by his loving children: Brian Kaufman; Kevin Kaufman; and Dennis Kaufman. He also leaves behind his granddaughter, Mia Kaufman, brother, Jerry Kaufman, and 7 nieces and nephews. He is reunited with his beloved wife of 34 years, Judith.

    David Kaufman was a man who loved golf and trap shooting. He was a very gifted musician, specializing in the saxophone, and played in several jazz bands. He is thought of as great salesman, a wonderful manager, and his coworkers all loved him.
