Note concerning the birth year of David Hathaway: Oscar Burton Robbin's book lists David's birth date as 1 October 1785, saying the date came from David Jackson's Bible. The Michigan Death record below gives his age at death as 89 years, 20 days which gives a calculated birth date of 3 Oct 1784. The Ohio SAR application # 81525 and the DAR records accept the birth date as 1 Oct 1783. The 1785 date has been used on this site because the 1783 date conflicts with the birth date of his older brother Silas Hathaway who was said (in Robbin's book) to be born in August, 1783. _______________________________________ From research of Ken Kirch: Notes for DAVID HATHAWAY: Page 321 of HATHAWAYS OF AMERICA, 1970 Edition, has: David Hathaway, b.
