About David Gordon

David Gordon of Madison County, Kentucky signed the marriage bond of his daughter Polly to marry Samuel Black in 1796. He appears to be a likely father of David Gordon who married Mary Jane "Jincey" Boyle on 2 March 1797 also in Madison County, Kentucky. There are two Tax List records in Madison County, Kentucky in 1796 and 1797 that refer to a "David Gordon, Sr., supporting the relationship of this David Gordon, Sr. as being the likely father of David Gordon who married Jane "Jincey" Boyle in 1796/1797.

Some researchers believe that this David Gordon was a son of David Gordon (b. abt. 1725-1730) who married a Ms. Siler and left his will in Madison County, Kentucky [signed 2 Jul 1814 & recorded in Madison Co 1 Jul 1816]. Additional research needs to be done on this family.
