David R. Garn, age 55, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 25, 2004, after a brief struggle with cancer, but with the help of the angels from Hospice of Northwest OH, and surrounded by those he loved and those who loved him. Born June 16, 1949 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of William and Maureen (Sutton) Garn. He married Joyce McWilliams, September 26, 1986 in Monroe, MI. David was employed as a mold maker in the glass industry, most recently employed by Chipmatic in Elmore, OH for 3 years. In addition to his loving wife, Joyce, he is survived by sons, Daniel (Kelly) and Douglas (Devoren) Garn; daughters, Diana Garn, Angie (Eric) Duncan, Brenda (Richard) Kelly; mother, Maureen Gernheuser; brothers, Steven (Pat) and Richard Garn; sisters, Patty (Frank) LaCourse and Lori Rohrer; sister, Peggy (Mike) Arnette and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William Garn and stepfather, Ray Gernheuser. Friends may call in the Farnham Funeral Home, 1125 W.Temperance Rd., Temperance, MI, Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to Hospice of Northwest OH.
