Will Transcript

I David Evans of Uwchlan Township, Chester County & State of Pennsylvania Yeoman Being weak in Body but of Perfect mind & memory with thankfullness of Heart to Almighty god for all his Mercies and Favours on me Bestowed In Consideration of the uncertainty of human life do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following.
Imprimis It is my Will that all my just Debts & Funeral Charges be paid & Discharged.
Item Its my Will that my Dear and Loving wife Elizabeth Evans of Lowden County & State of Virginia shall have hold and Enjoy the whole profits arising from my Estate both Real & Personal untill my Eldest son John Evvans Arives to the full age of Twenty one years ~ Provided she shall Cloathe Maintain & School my five Children hereafter Named that is to say John, Amos, William, Ann and Eleazer Evans.
Item It's my Will that when my Eldest son John Evans arives to the full age of Twenty one years That then my Executrix hereafter Named shall put my Estate both Real & Personal to Publick Sale.
Item It's my Will that when my Estate is so sold that my Dear and loving Wife Elizabeth Evans shall have the one third part of the profits arising from such Sales [of] Both of my Real & Personal Estate During her Natural life.
Item It's my Will that the Remainder of my Estate Both Real & Personal to be Equaly Devided Between my five Children Share & Share alike That is to say one fifth part to my loving & Eldest son John Evans, one fifth part to my loving son Amos Evans, one fifth part to my loving son William Evans, one fifth part to my Loving Daughter Ann Evans & one fifth part to my loving son Eleazer Evans.
Item it's my Will that at the Decease of my loving wife Elizabeth Evans, That then there shall be a Division of her thirds Between my five Children as before & Divided that is to say to share & share alike one fifth part to John, one fifth part to Amos, one fifty part to William, one fifth part to Ann & one fifth part to Eleazer Evans.
Item It's my Will that my Exectrix hereafter Named shall put my son John Evans to learn some Trade or Occupation when he arives to the age of sixteen years, also to put my son Amos Evans to learn some Trade or Occupation when he shall arive to the age of sixteen years, also to put my son William Evans to learn some trade or occupation when he shall arive to the age of Sixteen, also to put my Daughter Ann to learn some Trade or Occupation when she shall arive to the age of Sixteen years, lastly to put my son Eleazer Evans to learn some trade or Occupation when he shall arive to the age of sixteen years.
Item I appoint Constitute and ordain my loving wife Elizabeth Evans my sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking and making void all other Wills Testaments and Legacies heretofore made by me, Ratifying & Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.
As Witness my hand & Seal Dated this Twenty Second Day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred & Eighty one 1781.
