III. David Blair of that ilk, who, with most of the nobility and gentry of his country was compelled to submit to King Edward I. of England, anno 1296.
And, in the critical remarks upon Ragman’s Roll, he is mentioned as the progenitor of the Blairs of that ilk.
He was father of Roger de Blair IV.

    IV. Roger de Blair of that ilk, a firm friend of King Robert Bruce, from whom he got a charter under the great seal, Rogero de Blair diletlo et fideli nostro, of four chalders civtual yearly out of the lands of Bourtrees in the barony of Cunningham and shire of Air, to him and his heirs forever.
    He died in the reign of David II. leaving issue a son and successor, James Blair V.
