[Note: the record of the second marriage has not been located. Doubt is raised because on p. 375, the very next sketch shows Joseph Batcheller m. (3) Sarah Tilton, making it appear like some kind of editing error by Pierce. No probate of David has been found.. A deed in Worcester Vol. 46, p. 236 dated in 1758 contains the signature of Thankful, so, at least, we can say that Thankful was the mother of all the known children, since the last one was born in 1755.]
