Obituary DAVID ALEXANDER, PIONEER RESIDENT, IS DEAD Succumbed Sunday After Brief Illness; Came Here 63 Years Ago

 David H. Alexander, 79, a resident of Charlevoix and vicinity  for more than half a century, died Sunday, January 5.
 He was born February 20, 1861, at St. Catherine, Ontario, Canada, the son of James and Katherine Alexander.  He came to Barnard 63 years ago.  After a few years' residence there he moved to a farm near Ellsworth.
 In 1889 he married Miss Emily Hostler and to this union seven children were born.  She died 33 years ago.  He moved to Charlevoix in 1911.  In 1930 he married Mrs. Clarissa Russell, who survives him.
 Besides the widow he is survived by five sons, Warner of Ellsworth, Perry of Pontiac, Alvie of California, Milo and Charles of Charlevoix; and a daughter, Mrs. Lena Yettaw, of Grand Haven.
 Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H..J. Pulsipher on Wednesday afternoon, January 8, from the See Funeral Home.  Interment was at Barnard Cemetery.
