Daniel was a man of some importance and in accordance with a law passed requiring notice of trips being taken abroad we find this note in Vol. VIII of the York County, VA Records:

"At a Court held for York County, February 24, 1686, Daniel Williams, Josias Stacey and John Poindexter did let and publish their intentions of going for Old England, God Willing."
