According to an old deed, which in 1937 was in the possession of Herbert B. Wightman of Norwich, Connecticut. a descendant, Catherine and Daniel settled soon after their marriage in that part of Norwich township called Bozrah. The Deed dated June 13, 1728, reads: "I, Valentine Wightman of Groton (Connecticut), or and in consideration of the love, good-will and personal affection, which I have and do bear towards my son, Daniel Wightman of Norwich, have given and granted one-half of the land I bought of William Stark of Norwich, as appears by deed of sale bearing the date of July 2nd, 1722"
