    Daniel(1) Weld, eldest son, christened 8 Feb. 1585/6, St. Peter's Sudbury, died 22 July 1666 in Roxbury, Mass., as Mr. Daniel Weld aged 80. … Daniel Weld was made a freeman at Braintree, 2 June 1641, moved to Roxbury, 23 March 1651.

    DANIEL WELD (Wells/Welles/Welde) of Sudbury, Co. Suffolk, England came to America about 1640. Previously had lived in Ireland for a time, for on Jan. 23, 1623 Henrie Evered of Sudbury and wife Ales brought suit against Thomas Griggs, Thomas Blower, Daniel Welde and Robert Evered, all of Sudbury as executors of Toby Little, son of said Alice. They were to support the children of sd. Toby Little until of age. They were saymakers. … "Said Daniel Welde is already gone into Ireland and transported his whole estate with him". (NEGHR 93:204) … "Mr. Danyell Welles" was granted land for 20 heads, 80 acres at Mt. Wollaston Feb. 24, 1639 (40). … Daniel Weld remained in Braintree for at least eight years before removing to Roxbury. Mar. 23, 1651. Daniel Welde recommended unto us from the church at Bantry - Roxbury Ch. Rec. He was one of the selectman at Braintree 1645. Alse, wife of Daniel Weld was buried Apr. 18, 1647 at Braintree and he married 2nd Jul. 30, 1647 at Braintree Ann Hide widow of George Hyde of Boston. Dorcas daughter of Daniel Weld was born Apr. 6, 1643, dyed Jun. 15, 1643. He was made freeman Jun. 2, 1641. His will (Reg. Vol. 16) dated Roxbury, Jul. 1, 1666 mentions wife Ann and children Joseph & Bethiah Weld, & Timothy Hide, dau. Mary Hide, and eldest son Daniel in England, if living.

    Will of "Daniell Weld of Roxbury ... yeoman", dated 1 Jul 1666, proved 3 Nov 1666, names wife Ann Weld [among items includes orchard and pasture purchased of John Watson, and 12 acres purchased of Hugh Clark], "sonn mr Daniell Weld in England whether hee livinge or noe", children namely Joseph Weld, Bethiah Weld & Timothy Hide, daughter Mary Hide. Wife Ann Weld to be executrix and appoints "Couzens" Mr Edward Dennison, Mr Thomas Weld & Mr John Weld to be overseers.
