It seems very probable that we have not his full matrimonial history. Certain English records suggest that his son Daniel May have been of another mother than the rest of the children named in his will. That question, as well as the accurate numbering of the children, must await evidence not yet in hand, and probably forever hidden in the mists of antiquity.
