DANIEL L. SHOFFNER

NEWPORT--Daniel L. Shoffner, 86, of Hot Springs, died Monday, March 4, 1991, in a local nursing home.

A native of Shoffner, he was a member of a pioneer family in Jackson County, a retired farmer, former postmaster of Shoffner and a member of First United Methodist Church, Newport.

Survivors include a son, Donald Leslie Shoffner of North Little Rock; a daughter, Signa Bankston of Columbus, Mississippi, and three grand- children, David Leslie Shoffner of Miami, Florida, Deborah Lynn Bumgarner of Arlington, Texas, and Scarlett Eberline of Gastonia, North Carolina.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today in Jackson's Newport Funeral Home, Newport.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating.

Memorials are designated as First United Methodist Church of Newport.
