"Daniel married Nancy Sheffer on March 20, 1842 in Stark County, Ohio. He was the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Henry Shanower, and had siblings David, Jacob, John, George, Magdalena, Helena, Sarah, Rebecca, and Lucinda. In 1860, Daniel and Nancy are in Seneca County under the name Spenower. They have Elizabeth (1848), David (1852), Emeline (1854), and William (1860). In 1870, they are in Wood County with Daniel indexed as David, and children: David (1852), Ananius(1854), and William Henry(1860). Daniel and Nancy were in St.Joseph County, Indiana in 1880 with their son, William."
